Govt Advocate opposed bail plea of ULFA’s Political Advisor Father alias Mama alias Bhimkanta Burhagohain alias Bishnujyoti Burhagohain, here today in Tezpur Court. The bail petition was filed by Bishnujyoti Burhagohain’s family inmate Chandan Burhagohain on October 5.
The 80+ old Political Advisor of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) was arrested by Royal Bhutan Army in Operation All Clear, in December 15, 2003. After arrest he was handed over to India. Being on Tezpur Jail for 6 years, Mama was been shifted to Guwahati Central Jail.
It was hoped that Govt will not oppose and the bail plea and the Political Advisor will be released on bail to posses the Peace Talk procedure.
In the meanwhile, the top official source of the outfit have stated to Times of Assam that, the next bail petition will be filed in the Gauhati High Court soon, and as the case against Mama is only under NSA, there are high scope of grunt of the bail ple in High Court.
