ULFA denies Encounter & Arrest of their cadre

The United Liberation Front of Asom(ULFA) have denied about any encounter with security forces in Tinsukia. The outfit also denied about arrest of any of their cadres following the encounter.

In a press release sent to Times of Assam by Joy Asom, member of the Central Publicity Wing of ULFA, said, “the publicity about an encounter in Jutlibari under Tinsukia district and arrest of a cadre in injured condition following the encounter isn’t true. No encounter was happened in that area between our cadre and Indian occupying force.”

Joy Asom also denied any relation between their outfit and the youth arrested as claimed by the security forces.

Mentionable that, the Assam police today fired on a Maruti car and arrested two youths named Bagen Moran and Babul Baruah in Jutlibari near Doomdooma of Tinsukia district. Arrested Bagen Moran was injured in that firing, and police claimed that the duo belonged to Paresh Baruah led hardliner faction of ULFA.
