Drishti Rajkhowa and Jeeban Moran arrived Assam
The long drive confusion ends today while another two top ULFA leader Major Jeeban Moran and Lt Drishti Rajkhowa came for the support of Lateral Talk between the Government of India and the outfit. While Major Jeeban Moran is the Central Committee member, Lt Drishti Rajkhowa is in charge of Second in Command of the Operation Unit.
Confirming the arrival of the duo, a source of the outfit informed Times of Assam that this strongly indicates the will of the ULFA for the political solution. The source also stated that due to the communication problem the Commander of the 28 Battalion of the outfit Lt Bijay Das alias Bijay Chinese is yet unable to join for the path of Lateral Talk.
It should be mentioned that the outfit’s Chairman Arbinda Rajkhowa and the Deputy C-in-C Raju Barua already declared that the outfit will confirm their organization’s decision over the Lateral Talk procedure in their General Council to be held shortly after the release of the jailed central committee members.
According to the constitutional rule of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) in the General Council, there should be the presence of all the Central Committee members, Battalion Commanders, Area, and District Commanders. It should be also mentioned that since 1996, ULFA is yet not been able to organize their General Council.
