International Women’s Day in Kokrajhar

The 100^th International Women’s Day’ is being celebrated in Kokrajhar among various section of the womenfolk in the district. For the first time, the women vegetable vendours of Kokrajhar also participated in the women day celebration organized by the NERSWN, a local NGO working with the women. Over 150 women vendours from Kokrajhar and Gossiagaon came together to celebrate the women days at Pragati Bhavan with various colourful programme, including games and cultural programme. Issues related to the women were also discussed in
the meeting held on the ocassion.

At Chandrpaara Onthaigwlao more than 300 women also gathered at Weaving Destination Livelihood Campus, where along with the celebration, various issues and the role of women in the society were discussed such as women in domestic violence, women in conflict situation, women trafficking, etc. The day was also celebrated at various places of the districts, inclduing  Choraikhola and Banargaon.
