KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi arrested

General Secretary of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) Akhil Gogoi has been arrested today at 2:30 pm from Guwahati Press Club premises when he was there to attend a press meet. He has been shifted to the Panbazar Police station and security official has taken full precaution for preventing the ocurence of any unruly event. It is yet to be declared by police which cases are filed against Akhil Gogoi, but police sources said he will be produced at court soon.

Mentionable that a protest rally headed by Akhil Gogoi on 22nd of this month went violent and the protesters vandalised public property and also attacked police personals and journalists. The rally was organised against the State Government’s move to evict those who has setteled themselves in the hills surrounding Guwahati in Gorchuk area of Guwahati.
