A new Lokpal Bill is going to be introduced in the Lok Sabha today while the one introduced earlier would be withdrawn.
The Government stated to the main Opposition, BJP yesterday that they have an intention to have a three-day additional sitting of Parliament from December 27 to take care and close the issue of the Lokpal Bill. The BJP understandably agreed to the notion.
As per reports, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee had held a meeting with Leader of Oppositions in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha namely Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley respectively along with and BJP leader LK Advani to discuss about the plan for extending the winder session by three more days. He is also reported to have mentioned that Lokpal Bill passed by the Cabinet the day before could be circulated to MPs today evening.
On the other hand, Anna Hazare accused the Government of putting forward a weak Lokpal Bill and to have cheated the people since it leaves the CBI out of its purview.
