WWF kidnapping candale light rally

Civic society, NGOs, Student organizations and public carried out a candle light rally at Kokrajhar this evening seeking safe and early release of kidnapped WWF volunteers who were abducted on Sunday, February 6. Family members of the victims, WWF officials and media persons also participated in the rally. The rally with placards and banners, which began from Pragati Bhavan to Police Point near Assam Petrol via RNB road and back to Pragati Bhavan demands the organizations involved in the kidnapping to release the three WWF volunteers at the earliest without any pre-condition.  A meeting was also held at the Pragati Bhavan later on.

It is to be mentioned that six WWF volunteer workers including three girls were abducted by unidentified arms militants from Laopani area near Ultapani in Kokrajhar district bordering Bhutan on Sunday evening while they were on way to the area for the field work. The three girls were released 48 hours later. The three boys however under custody of the kidnappers.
