14 killed in Kokrajhar after suspected NDFB militant open fire in market

Fourteen civilians have been killed after suspected NDFB militant opened fire at a weekly market at Balajan Tinali of Kokrajhar district. Security forces in the area have killed one of the militants.

Fifteen civilians have been reported injured in the incident. One of the militants was also killed, with police recovering one AK-56 rifle from his possession.

DGP Mukesh Sahay said there were enough indications that the anti-talk faction of NDFB was behind the incident.

The area has been cordoned off by police and Army forces as they launched operations to look for militants hiding in nearby buildings.
