:  Kokrajhar, October 15, 2010

A portion of a railway track was damaged when suspected NDFB militants triggered a blast at railway track near Singimari in between Kokrajhar and Salakati railway station, about 5 km from Kokrajhar railway station yesterday late evening around 9.30 pm.

The police also recovered another bomb packed in a gas cylinder from the sport and 50metres electric wire from the spot.

The blast partially damaged a portion around 2 metres of a railway track on the Southern side of the two railway track (Down Line). Railway sources said a good train was coming on the way when the blast took place. The train was however stopped in time as the railway guard on duty spotted two bombs (cylinders) lying on the track and stopped the train few metres away.

Railway service were suspended for a while but later resumed with the Northern line.
