Guwahati Molestation – Akhil Gogoi opens can of worms

RTI activist and KMSS General Secretary Akhil Gogoi on Tuesday blasted with a new theory that the recent molestation of the Guwahati girl instigated by the reporter of news channel NewsLive may have been part of a greater conspiracy to stain the image of and destabilise the government. Pointing out that the channel is owned by much controversial minister of state Himanta Biswa Sharma whose wife is its CEO, Gogoi alleged that the entire incident had been planned, directed, recorded, telecast and uploaded on You Tube by the news channel with a political intention so as to destroy Tarun Gogoi’s career. It is to be noted that there has been various allegations in the past that Minister Himanta Biswa is secretly trying to become the next Chief Minister and that he could be trying this with different foul means.
Akhil Gogoi also demanded that the journalist Gaurav Jyoti Neog who allegedly instigated the incident be arrested immediately along with the prime accused Amarjyoti Kalita. He further stated that have information that both Neog and Kalita, who are the main culprits of the incident, have a good relation and the latter has been made to flee as many facts will be exposed if he is arrested.
On the update of resignation of the channel’s Editor-in-Chief Atanu Bhuyan, Gogoi rightfully pointed out that about a year ago, Bhuyan was accused of making unethical comments about an Ahom Lady which had led entire Assam to protest. However instead of arresting him, the police had arrested an innocent Journalist against whom the police has not been able to prove a word yet; which clearly means that Atanu Bhuyan was the actual culprit in all probabilities. It is to be mentioned that in this context, Akhil Gogoi had mentioned yesterday in the press meet about our own Times of Assam Chief Editor Dhruba Jyoti Deka who was picked by IB personnel and later levelled with charges of using fake Facebook account of Atanu Bhuyan,- a charge which never was proved. It is very evident that the police had acted under the influence of the political class at that time and washed off their hands instead of arresting the culprit. It is better late than never; – Times of Assam extends gratitude to Akhil Gogoi for bringing this up and for having the morale to speak the turth, although he is about a year late. We look forward for him providing the moral support for the sake of Justice.
These types of new emerging theories based on his personal assumption (may be due to influence of some undesirable interest) are the reasons why Akhil Gogoi loses his credibility even and of and get critisized by common people. We expect him not to divert from the real issue.
