Kalaigaon College prepares silver jubilee celebration

Kalaigaon College, the only higher education in Kalaigaon  area has been preparing silver jubilee celebration with various program. The celebration will be concluded with the three days programme on January 27, 28 and 29, 2011. This has been decided at a meeting of the silver jubilee reception committeeheld at the college campus on October 21 recently. The meeting, presided over by Maheswar Boro, MLA, Kalaigaon had detail discusssion on various agendas including organization of a ‘Book Fair and Exhibition’during the closing ceremoniy on January 27, 28, 29 , 2011.  Arabinda Das, Principal of Kalaigaon college in his welcome speech explained about various competitions and events that would be organized before the conclusion of the closing ceremony.He also said that a few academic activities would be organized on November 6 2010.  Jagadish Sarkar,  MCLA, BTC formally launched the fund raising programme by donating rupees ten thousand on the spot. Dandi Ram Rabha, MCLA, BTC and working president of the reception committee; social workers-Kami Ram Saharia, Kamal Prasad Sarma, journalists Imran Hussain, Rabindra Rabha etc also attended the meeting. Maheswar Boro, MLA,Kalaigaon laid the foundation stone of the proposed new college building to be constructed and completed by BTC authority before the closing ceremony.

Another meeting was held on the next day at the college premises to finalize programme of the silver jubilee celebration. The meeting which was presided over by Dandi Ram Rabha, MCLA, BTC. According to the programme the hoisting of silver Jubilee celebration flag will mark the closing ceremony on January 27 at 8 am to be followed by plantation of trees at 8-30 am, inauguration of book fair and exhibition at 11 am;cultural programme, seminars etc.
