Andimuthu Raja, former telecommunications minister, facing trial in the 2G scandal has brought Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s name into the case.

Raja blamed Manmohan Singh stating that the Prime Minister was aware of key decisions taken in the 2G scandal. He stated this is special 2G trial court yesterday.

The comments by Raja has put the government on the back foot after efforts by Singh to move past a series of damaging corruption scandals that have rocked the country and put the government to utter shame.

However Raja denied being guilty in the court over the alleged manipulation of the sale of 2G telecoms spectrum licenses in 2007-8 when he was telecommunications minister.

Mentionable that Raja, a member of UPA coalition partner DMK, has been charged with flouting telecoms rules and accepting bribes to favour certain firms when they sought mobile phone licenses at low prices, causing the Government to lose around 39 billion dollars of revenue.

Raja blamed that it was the finance minister who approved the sale in the presence of the PM. He called upon the PM to deny this charge.

On the other hand, the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was quick to react that demanded the Prime Minister’s resignation.

Man Mohan Singh who frudelently declared Guwahati to be his home town, will come out scot free from this damming case,—COURTESY 10 JANPATH,— which is the fountainhead of all corruptions in independent India from Jawaharlal to Indira to Rajiv to Sonia (to Rahul). Only the Supreme Court can throw some dim light on the case. The Parliament is pathetically incompetant.
