Silpapran award 2010 in Nagaon, Assam

With the presence of distinguished guests, the Silpapran Chandra Phukan and Natya Prabor Sarada Kt. Bordoloi award 2010 presentation held at district library auditorium in Nagaon on Sunday evening. Noted singer Manisha Hazarika, renowned dancer Saradi Saikia, music arranger Dhrubajyoti Phukan and Jatin Sharma graced the function as guest. Beside them the prolific singer of Assam J.P.Das, Om Prakash,the Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon and S.P Nagaon Nitul Gogoi also attended the award presentation ceremony. As a tribute to Natyaprabor and Silpapran, the entire guest along with Jatin Sharma & Dhrubajyoti Phukan lightened the earthen lamp. A souvenir was also released at the function.
This year the memorial committee has selected Jatin Sharma, Mumbai based Assamese music arranger and sound engineer for Natya Prabor Sarada Kanta Bordoloi award and Dhruvajyoti Phukan, the noted music composer for Silpapran Chandra Phukan Award.
The function was inaugurated by Assam Forest, Environment & Tourism minister Rockybul Hussain. In the inaugural speech, Rockybul Hussain greeted the guests and the audiences. On his speech he briefly spoke about the contributions made by Dhrubajyoti Phukan and Jatin Sharma in the field of music. The awards were presented to duo by Hussain, accompanied by Manisha Hazarika, Saradi Saikia & J.P.Das. Before the award presentation, Dhruva Jyoti Phukan and Jatin Sharma were felicitated with Asomiya Phulam Gamusa, Japi, Sorai and a Shawl. Both Phukan and Sharma on their speech offered their heartiest thanks to the organizing committee. At the end of the function, J.P. Das enthralled the audiences with the song” Porishay Bihin, Jajabor Lagaori”.
