Times of Assam unmasks Facebook fraud

Going through long investigation and with the co-operation of Facebook Authority, Times of Assam has been able to unmask the criminal who was stealing Facebook login id and password using the fake Facebook login page http://collegepics.x10.bz. Times of Assam have been also able to shut down the phishing page that was running by the criminal. The hosting provider x10Hosting responded to Times of Assam in a co-operative manner to shut down the Facebook fake login page created and hosted by Chandan Singh.

In our thorough investigation, it is also evident that the criminal who owns the phishing page http://collegepics.x10.bz and was stealing Facebook users’ login id and password is one Chandan Singh hailing from Nagpur, Maharastra, and he is from Bihar origin. The criminal, Chandan Singh is a student of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, and he was running a financial scam through Facebook phishing. Chandan has his own Facebook profile as https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003267913045 which he used to add himself once he stole the victims’ Facebook login id and password. By this scam, Chandan Singh could steal login id and passwords of 162 Facebook users who are girls.

During our investigation, it is also found that Chandan Singh is psychic about girls, and he used to call the victims at night collecting their mobile number through Facebook profiles. Chandan used his mobile numbers bearing +919595893498, +917304880555, +918657708042, and +919579405345 to call the girls and was frequently disturbing the girls using vulgar words.

Mentionable that Chandan Singh, who hails from Patna, Bihar origin, have been already scanned by Bangalore and Maharastra Police and found involved with cybercrime, obscenity, and woman harassment.
