One Maharashtra guy named Chandan Singh(from Bihar origin) is found to be running monetary scam through a Facebook phishing page. Chandan Singh, aged 22+ old hailing from Maharashtra has been found evident as the Facebook scammer in a recent investigation done by Times of Assam.
In his phishing attack attempting login email & password theft, Chandan Singh is using a phishing page i.e. http://collegepics.x10.bz. He requests Facebook users to click on the link of that phishing page. Users who aren’t much aware about Facebook scams click on the link and it opens a fake Facebook login page. When the user enters his login details, it creates a dummy pop-up resulting in the login email and password forwarded to the email id firstname.lastname@example.org. By this way Chandan Singh use to get the victim’s Facebook login email and passwords. Using the login id and password of the victims, Chandan Singh accesses their Facebook profile and requests the listed friends to recharge his mobile. It is also found during the investigation that Chandan Singh has theft Facebook login id and passwords of more than 500 victims by this way and most of them are girls.
Times of Assam have been able to trace some numbers that Chandan Singh got recharged by this way and such are +917304880555, +918657708042, +919579405345 and so on. It is also found evident that Chandan Singh himself is the owner of the mobile numbers +917304880555, +918657708042, +919579405345. Times of Assam have been also able to retain Chandan Singh’s personal mobile no(+919595893498) who demands recharge by using Facebook phishing page. When someone contacts Chandan Singh at his mobile number, Singh use to threaten by various ways. During the investigation Times of Assam have been able to identify the Criminal’s IP address and it is 188.8.131.52 which clears he is using Tata Photon internet connection from Maharastra.
It is found evident that Chandan Singh is the owner of Facebook phishing page http://collegepics.x10.bz and the email id email@example.com. Most of the victims of Chandan Singh’s monetary scam are from Bangalore, and some of them have already lodged police complain against Chandan Singh, but police is yet to take action against Chandan Singh.
