Hearing on Raju Barua’s bail plea postpone till 26th October

The Guwahati Designated Court, today, has postpone the date on final hearing of the bail plea of ULFA’s Deputy Commander-in-Chief Raju Barua alias Hitesh Kalita, till October 26, 2010. It was supposed that the bail plea will be grant by the court today. There were 3 cases under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Prevention Act (TADA), against the ULFA’s Deputy-in-Chief, to ruled out the bail plea.
The jailed ULFA leaders, Chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa alias Rajeeb Rajkonwar, Deputy commander-in-Chief Raju Baruah alias Hitesh Kalita, Foreign Secretary Sasha Choudhury alias Sashadhar Choudhury, Finance Secretary Chitraban Hazarika, and Cultural Secretary Pranati Deka were also produced before the Kamrup CJM court today, under tight security control.
Stating about the Court’s decision, a source of the outfit, have told Times of Assam that the outfit and the Deputy Commander-in-Chief himself is not aware totally about the cases. Hence the source denied further more reveal about the current situation which created a crowded environment in front of the Court today.
Family of the outfit’s Deputy Commander-in-Chief Raju Barua alias Hitesh Kalita was hopeful to fruitful decision of the court today. But they returned to home with dissatisfaction, as it was previously confirmed about the grant of the bail plea today.
It should be mentioned that the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Prevention Act (TADA) is no longer in force or active Act now, but the cases under TADA are yet active and under judicial procedure. It is also to be mentioned that renowned late Journalist Parag Kumar Das was also arrested and imprisoned under the TADA, while the act dealt with Terrorism activities carried by armed way.
