British Companies eyeing untapped potential in North East India

The British Deputy High Commissioner to Eastern India, Sanjay Wadvani stated that the British companies were actively pursuing partnerships in the North Eastern Region of India.

Addressing the inaugural session of the seminar on Sustaining Peace in North-East India: Changing Dimensions’ organized by the Centre for Development and Peace Studies (CPDS), the British Deputy High Commissioner stressed the need for tapping the tremendous growth opportunities of the North-east and suggested that there is huge untapped business potential for Indian and British companies in the whole North-East region in sectors like infrastructure, education and training, oil and gas, power, low carbon development, and healthcare.

Wadvani also stated that ever since the British High Commission brought its first major trade mission to Guwahati in 2010, several British companies were actively pursuing joint ventures in North East India.
