The banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom(ULFA) said that there was no encounter occured in Majuli between security forces and the outfit on Sunday, July 01.

In a fresh press release sent by the outfit’s Publicity Wing member Joy Asom to Times of Assam, the outfit said that it was not true that any encounter happened between the outfit and the security forces as published by the Assamese Newspapers upon the statement of Dr Sanjukta Parashar(IPS), the Superitendent of Police of Jorhat district. The outfit alleged that Sanjukta Parashar lied and the security forces actually fired to a boat that was carrying milk.

The outfit also condemned such an act of security forces that was done to draw attention before the Prime Minister’s visit to Assam. It is also claimed that this incident proved the inhuman acts of the security forces and SP Sanjukta Parashar, where entire Assam is suffering from flood and the security forces fired to a daily wage earner.
