ULFA[I] C-in-C Paresh Asom’s mother Miliki Baruah passes away

Miliki Baruah – mother of ULFA[I] Commander-in-Chief Major General Paresh Asom alias Paresh Baruah – died at her residence at Jerai Chakali Bheriagaon in Dibrugarh district on Thursday, October 01, 2015. She was 88.

Miliki Baruah had recently refused financial assistance of Rs.1 lakh offered by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and requested him to spend the amount for the betterment of lakhs of flood-affected people in the state.

The Assam government offered the financial assistance to the ailing Baruah – who was suffering due to age-related ailments – last month after she was admitted to a local hospital.

Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi also offered to provide safe passage to the ULFA[I] C-in-C Paresh Baruah – on humanitarian grounds – if he desired to see his mother in his native place.

Miliki Baruah, who lived in Jeraigaon, lost his son Dinesh Baruah in 1992 after he was abducted by some gunmen and later found his bullet ridden body.
