Food Corporation of India (FCI) Guwahati emerged champion in the 11th Bodoland Martyers Gold Cup Football Championship being played today at Kokrajhar District Sports Association(KDSA)indoor stadium in Kokrajhar. In the final match today the FCI defeated the Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) Guwahati by 2-1 goals. In the thrilling final match played before peaked KDSA field ASEB player Shame Mura scored the first goal in 11 minutes to led the score 1-0 in the first half of the match. In the second half FCI player Tomson Lanthasa scored one goal in 60 minutes managed to equalize the match in 1-1. In the 65 minutes of the match Birdwm Basumatary of FCI scored the second goal through penalty kick to win the match 2-1. The championship organized by Ex-BLT Welfare society in association with Kokrajhar Districr Sports Association in memory of martyrs of Bodoland movement. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary gave away the cash rupees 50,000 and a trophy to championship team while Assam minister for Agriculture and WPT& BC Pramila rani Brahma handed over the cash rupees 25,000 along with a trophy to runner up team.Teker Hmar of FCI was awarded the best player of the championship and received cash rupees 5,000 and a trophy which was gave away by BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary.
