Assam Government issued shoot at sight order

Finally the Assam Government issued shoot-at-sight order in the tension-hit area of Sivasagar district bordering Arunachal Pradesh following border dispute between the two States. Assam Police personnel keeping a strong vigil and patrolling Charaipung area from a hilltop along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border on August 26, 2010.   Joint patrolling by police of both the States is going on in the area which is still tense following incidents of arson and violence. Assam Border Area Development Minister Gautam Roy to visit the area today to take stock of the situation.
