It is the Maoists who have fueled the anti-dam movement in Assam through a Mega Dam Resistance Forum and are working for the interests of China,- claims Tarun Gogoi, Chief Minister of the state.

Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi has stated the anti-dam movement in Assam has been fueled by people working to further China’s interests. He opined that the same people are not even making a voice about China trying to divert Brahmaputra and went on to declare that the agitations have been fuelled by Maoists.
As per the Chief Minister, the Maoists have formed on Mega Dam Resistance Forum two years ago and through this forum they are fuelling the anti-dam movement in the State.
It is to be mentioned that the Assam Chief Minister as well as the Governor J B Patnaik has been often stating the anti-dam movement is being influenced by the Maoists.
