Shaking the worldwide news Islamic State (IS) Twitter account @ShamiWitness ran out of Bengaluru – the alleged handler of the most influential pro-Islamic State (IS) Twitter account @ShamiWitness was arrested from an apartment hof same Bangaluru in the early hours today on December 13, 2014.

DGP L Pachau told reporters that arrested Mehdi Masroor Biswas has confessed he was handling the pro-jihad twitter account @ShamiWitness and he was particularly close to English-speaking ISIS terrorists.

Mr. Biswas, hailing from West Bengal, had admitted to operating @ShamiWitness twitter account for the last several years, he said, announcing the breakthrough along with Bengaluru Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi.
Cases had been registered against Mr. Biswas under various provisions of IPC, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and IT Act, Mr. Reddi said.
Mr. Pachau said Mr. Biswas had more than 17,000 followers on Twitter and used to “ferociously” tweet by aggregating information and closely watching developments of the region.
Biswas was frequently seen advising people planning to join the IS. One tweet gave advice on how to cross the Turkish border to cross over to Iraq. UK’s Channel 4 contacted him around December 3 following which he shut down his Twitter account.
Biswas has been in Bengaluru from 2012 where he joined a food corporation as a trainee before being absorbed as a permanent employee in 2013.
Biswas was also one of the few to tweet the videos depicting the beheading of US social worker Peter Kessig by the IS within minutes of it being uploaded. Another tweet also encouraged the deaths and rapes of Kurdish fighters fighting the IS in Iraq.
The controversial twitter account @SwmiWitness has been de-activated by Twitter authority already.
