The much hyped and awaited 11th Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) polls in Assam would be held today, January 04. A total of 128 candidates are contesting in as many as 26 seats of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council where the potential strength of voters is 5, 86,704 across 798 polling stations.
Heavy measures have been put in the security space throughout the district and 16 additional companies of paramilitary forces are reported to have been deployed in Diphu, Hamren and Howraghat.
The Assam-Meghalaya border and the Assam-Nagaland border in the district would also be sealed on the polling day to avoid any sort of interference from the neighboring States in the entire polling process, as per reports received.
