P K Dutta Denies his involvement in killing of Mithinga Daimary’s Familly


Prashanta Kumar  Dutta, the  Superintendent of Police, Kokrajhar  today denied his involvement in the killings of family members of ULFA’s Publicity Secretary  Mithinga Daimary in 1998 and said that there is no evidence against him.

In a press meet held at office of the Superintendent of Police, Kokrajhar, today, Dutta said that the protest of seven organizations including the AASU, AJYCP, MASS, AGP etc at Barama in Bagsa district against his President’s medal winning, was quite unfortunate.  He said that he was the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Makum of Tinsukia district on the day of killing incident took place in the house of Mithinga Daimary.

The incident in of killing of the family of Mithinga Daimary was true but there should be evidence against each individual before blaming some one, saying this he also added that he will quit not only his President’s medal but also the job if such allegations could be proved.  He also questioned the seven organizations those staged protest against him while he was announced for President’s medal but was silent earlier. There may some hidden force over the sudden protest, he also stated in his verbal statement.
