The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) have denied the bandh call appealed earlier by the suspended Self-Styled Commander(!) of Central Publicity Wing of the outfit, Arunodoy Dohitya. In a press release sent today, through an email to the Times of Assam by the member of Central Publicity Wing of ULFA, Kamal Kachari  said that though the organization is yet a banned outfit, but it has rules by law. Hence the bandh call appealed by someone else who is not related with the Organization by law cannot be tolerated as the decision of the entire outfit. Earlier, Arunodoy Dohotiya sent a press release appealing for Assam bandh over the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s visit on Saturday, April 02, 2011.

The press release, signed by Kamal Kachari, Member of Central Publicity Wing of ULFA also claimed that the bandh call on tomorrow isn’t an organizational decision of the outfit, hence there is no genuine reason to support the bandh call. Kamal Kachari also said that whoever is going to support or cooperate with the bandh call on tomorrow will have to bear the responsibility of all the coming days of violence, terrorism and barbarism if it happens. ‘While the bandh caller Arunodoy Dohotiya’s existence is fully nullified by the Central Committee of ULFA already, so any bandh call by Dohotiya cannot be considered as valid.’- Kamal Kachari also added.
