The military chief also warned if the Modi led BJP government doesn’t confirm whereabout of the 26 missing leaders and cadres – arrested in OPERATION ALL CLEAR in 2003 by INDIAN ARMY in Bhutan – ULFA [I] will take action to prevent BJP’s mission 84+ in the 2016 Assam assembly election.
Major General Paresh Asom alias Paresh Baruah has set a deadline as January 15, 2015 to the BJP to resolve the whereabouts of the outfit’s missing 26 leaders and cadres.
In a press release sent to TIMES OF ASSAM by Paresh Asom alias Paresh Baruah via email – the ULFA[I] Military Chief warns strictly Narendra Modi led BJP – if the outfit’s appeal is ignored within the deadline of January 15, 2015 – the outfit will take armed action against BJP and will prevent BJP’s Mission 84+ for Assam Assembly Election in 2016. Paresh Asom also said that the whereabouts (whether they are alive or killed) of the missing leaders and cadres of the outfit is much required for their families and the outfit itself.
The missing 26 leaders and cadres includes top brass of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) – namely Major Bening Rabha(Chief of the Force of the outfit), Major Ashanta Baghphukan(Organizing Secretary), Major Jeeban Moran(Senior), Lt Nilu Chakravarty, 2nd Lt Sarat Sarania alias Abhijit Deka along with a few others who had been missing since the Operation All Clear by the joint operation of Indian & Bhutan Royal Army in Bhutan in 2003 was never found.
Mentionable that – Union of India disbanded Assam State Government in November 27, 1990 under Article 356 of Constitution of India – declared United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) as a banned outfit under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and launched military operations against the outfit – named Operation Bajrang November 1990, Operation Rhino September 1991, Operation All Clear December 2003 and Operation Rhino 2 – under the Indian Army. The outfit is maintaining November 27 of each year as their PROTEST DAY.
