Waste heat recovery project inaugurated

On 13 January, 2012, the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi dedicated the Waste heat recovery project of Lakwa Thermal Power Project for Assam. With the functioning of the plant this thermal power station will generate 37.5 megawatt additional power and will help to solve the power crisis of our state. This 236 crore plant is installed with 80 percent loan from Power corporation of India. With this additional 37.5 megawatt, the Assam Power Generation Corporation Ltd will earn 70 crore annually.

In this inaugural function, the power minister, Pradyut Bordoloi, the MLAs of Nazira, Mahmora, Thawra, Debobrata Saikia, Sarat Saikia, Sushanta Borgohain and the chairman of Assam tourism development corporation, Dr. Hemoprava Saikia were present. The function was anchored by Mr. Arindom Choudhury the superintendent Engineer and Subhash Das, chairman of Assam Power Generation Corporation Ltd delivered the inaugural speech. A souvenir was released by power minister Pradyut Bordoloi on that occasion.
