Laskar and the other 8 members who were arrested by the police were at the signature campaign. It has been noticed that a large number of people of different communities showed their interest towards the signature campaign against the construction of Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric Power Project (LSHEP) dam which could be a great threat for Assam in near future. The signature campaign started by the voluntary organization with a aim to garner one lakh signatures and submit these, along with the memorandum, to the Prime Minister of India.

It was noticed that the program started peacefully here but after the police intervention, the whole situation turned a another way but was controlled latter on. At Haiborgaon, the KMSS activists assembled for the program in whichthe state president Mulan Laskar addressed the public. He alleged that Tarun Gogoi led Congress government has been betraying the common people of Assam and appealed the public to de-throne the congress government for the benefit of the state. “We will continue our protest against the government until and unless the dam construction work stops and we will not spare anyone siding with mega dam lobby.” told by Laskar.
