No question to compromise with Secret Killers: Bordoloi

‘There is no question about either compromising with the Secret Killers or tolerating such acts’,- talking to Times of Assam, the former Human Rights Activist, Lachit Bordoloi states about the controversies going on about his joining in political party Asom Gana Parishad(AGP).

In a exclusive interview with Times of Assam, Mr Bordoloi today said that being an Human Right Activist, he is yet in his principle as it was before. With a disclaim about the controversy over his political role, he said that he has withdrawn Active role of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) in 2005 and withdrawn his primary membership 2 months before. So there should not be any question about mixing up his previous activism & current political act.

He also said that his stand & ideology are yet the same in regards of Nationalism & against secret killings of 1996-2001. While being asked about any political intention related with the Lateral Talk between United Liberation Front of Asom(ULFA) & Government of India, he denied such claim and said, ‘As a PCG member, I did as per my capability. Later on as a member of Sanimilita Jatiya Abhibartan, I have done whatever was in my capability. Today situation about the Lateral Talk is in a condition where the direct communication between ULFA & Government of India has been established and we third parties have nothing to do more. However, to bring peaceful solution of the Indo-Assam conflict, I will never come back from my duty as needed for Assam & it’s people.’
