Eight timber smugglers arrested in Kokrajhar

Eight hardcore timber smugglers are arrested by Forest Department at Gorsingpara under Chirang Reserve Forest on Saturday wee hours. The forest officials seized 9 bullock carts along with 18 buffalos and worth more than one lakhs valuables Sal logs. The arrested were identified as Dhela Narzary, Lwithw Basuamtary, Sodon Islary, Amush Basumatary, Abhinash Islary, Hosiya Islary, Phonen Narzary and Sonjib Brahma. Mentionable, following rampant destruction of forest by timber smuggler in Chirang reserve Forest since last decades,  Chirang forest was degraded to a large extend.
