Gaji Ram Rabha (90), close associate of warrior artist Late Bishnu Prasad Rabha and once dreaded armed revolutionary, died at his residence in Kamrup district’s Ghorama village at around 7 am on Sunday. Rabha was one of the dreaded revolutionaries of the armed struggle launched by the Revolutionary Communist Party of India (RCPI) and led many missions along with Gaji Ram was part of many missions along with Bishnu Prasad Rabha during the late 40s and early 50s as a part of the RCPI’s armed movement against the land lords. He had joined the armed struggle and was hugely inspired by Bishnu Rabha when the latter had revolted against the Indian State on 15th August 1947 stating This Independence is Fake. He had bit his tongue injuring himself and his ability to speak when he was caught by the Police and was bitten up asking for information about Bishnu Rabha. He stated around a year and half in prison then after.

A man of uncompressing attitude and valor, he remained a simple man down to earth and away from the glam and fame, unlike leaders of today who hankers after money and fame.

It was a pity that on political leader, even the ones from the Left ever came to visit him. Even his funeral was a small affair with no prominent leader coming to pay the last rites to this revolutionary of yester years who showed what revolution means.
