Pro-Talk ULFA threatens Times of Assam Chief Editor

Threats and criticism resulted out of true and uncompromising nature of news or articles published has been the building blocks for Times of Assam ever since inception. Times of Assam had been previously threatened by several ones including members of Political parties (for portraying the true nature of their parties), mafia within the media circles and a certain MLA, hardliner ULFA led by Paresh Baruah (on last September 22, 2011) etc.

This time, after a series of exclusives done on the Pro-Talk group of ULFA (read Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3), a few Pro-talk ULFA members have threatened Chief Editor of Times of Assam, Mr. Dhruba Jyoti Deka over phone calls several times since last three days.

Last year, when the Pro-Talk group of the outfit had initiated discussions with the Government of India, Times of Assam had supported the process looking at the hopes of millions in Assam awaiting peace and solution in the much troubled state. During that time, many wrote to us questioning why we were supporting Pro-Talk ULFA. Now, after exposing the truth about this faction we are being threatened. An irony in itself!

Times of Assam appeals to those members of Pro-Talk faction threatening our Chief Editor that instead of wasting energy in issuing threats (which they have been doing uselessly for last 31 years now with no good for Assam), let they get bring solution and honour to Assam through their negotiation with Government of India. If they can, Assam might still forgive them for their deeds and misdeeds. Else, it is only a matter of time for them to be buried under the sands of time.
