ULFA claims arrested Antu Chawdang was nabbed by RAB few days back

The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) today said that Captain Antu Chawdang alias Upen Burhagohain and 2nd Lt Rubel alias Pradip Chetia were nabbed by a joint operation team of RAB of Bangladesh and RAW of India on Monday December 13, 2010. In a press releas, the Publicity Member of the outfit, Arunodoy Dohotia also stated that the duo were nabbed & arrested from a hospital of Bangladesh while Antu Chawdang was under treatment. The outfit, by the press release appeals to the Bangladesh Government to clarify about the current situation of arrested Antu Chawdang and Rubel. The outfit in the press release, added that neither the news about the arrest of the family of Antu Chawdang is not based on truth, nor he has surrendered willingly.

It should be mentioned that the arrested Rubel alias Pradip Chetia is the same person who used to send press releases of the outfit after the move-out of the Publicity member Lt Anu Burhagohain while Lt Anjan Borthakur and 2nd Lt Arpan Saikia were jointly using the name Lt Anu Burhagohain. It was previously revealed by Times of Assam that the name Lt Anu Burhagohain who used to send press releases of ULFA is not a real person but Lt Anjan Borthakur was behind this name and later 2nd Lt Arpan Saikia who is popularly known as the noted writer Pradan Saikia, also went behind the name Anu Burhagohain to carry on the Publicity activity of the outfit.
