Naba Kumar Saraniya is not going to contest in upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Election

Militant turned politician Naba Kumar Saraniya is reported to be not to contest in upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024. One of Saraniya’s own security personnel revealed it to Times of Assam.

Saraniya, two times MP (Minister of Parliament) from the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha Constituency till date, is now in the dilemma of losing the upcoming election as he tried to enter into state politics through the Barama Assembly Election in 2021 and lost badly with just 19% vote share.

Saraniya, once a dreaded commander of the ULFA’s 709 battalion (United Liberation Front of Asom) gave up insurnacy in 2009 under command of the then Chairman of the outfit and the action commander of military Raju Baruah. Soon after the organizational dispute between the factions of Chairman Arabindra Rajhkhowa and Operation commander of military operation Raju Baruah, Naba Saraniya, widely known as Heera Saraniya, felt in a trap set by his own mates and got arrested for a murder case in 2012. At that time, Saraniya determined to leave the outfit and to join politics.

Coming into politics, Naba Saraniya successfully won the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency with very ease in 2014 and in 2019.

For utmost of the political disaster, the elimination of Assembly & Parliamentary Constituencies for Assam, brought the end of Naba Saraniya’s political career.

Saraniya, who presently representing the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha Constituency, is nowhere safe in his own place, and loosing Barama Assembly Election Results in 2021 forced Saraniya to outstate from the newly formed Udalguri constituency.

Hence, it is bound to the end of Naba Saniya’s political journey and to grilled for the killing of tons, including Phool Chand Ram (P C Ram).
